People Point is recruiting a Head of Supply Chain for its client, the world’s largest producer of bricks and clay blocks, as well as being the market leader for clay roof tiles. The business is represented in 30 countries with 197 production sites.  Apply here and join our client’s team.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Head of Supply Chain is responsible for developing and implementing the Supply Chain Strategy in cooperation with relevant local and headquarter stakeholders.

The position manages, coordinates and supervises all activities of Customer Service, Transport, Warehouse Management, Resource Planning and SAP Key user functionalities and departments and leads a team of  40 – 50 people with 4 direct reports. The position reports in a matrix environment to the Managing Director of the Romanian Operations and as well to the Head of Supply Chain Management from the headquarter.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and implementing the Supply Chain strategy in cooperation with relevant local and headquarter stakeholders.
  • Manages, coordinates and supervises all activities of Customer Service, Transport, Warehouse Management, Resource Planning and SAP Key user functionalities and departments.
  • Focus on and increase customer satisfaction by improving specific KPIs, managing development projects.
  • Focus on and optimize the transportation costs at the required service level and the transaction cost per order line.
  • Makes sure that the team is acting according the general policies set by the company.
  • Strong focus on people development and succession planning.
  • Assist logistics process for the development of new products, inventory maintenance, manufacturing, shipment and delivery, and returns on products.
  • Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help management understand the logistics perspective.
  • Build relationships within the company and with external parties, such as suppliers or distributors.
  • Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts or import/export agreements.
  • Communication, Transportation, Planning and Analysis, Inventory Control, Management.
  • Monitor the performance and setting the right actions of the managed department.
  • Initiates and implements improvement steps to meet KPIs for the lead department.
  • Initiates and runs Corporate and local projects.
  • Supports the Managing Director in questions related to Supply chain department.
  • Budget and cost center responsibility.
  • Translating the strategy into the department goals.
  • Functional and disciplinary Leadership of the lead department.
  • Aligning the master plan, the processes and the people around it for the coordinated teams.

KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree preferable in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in similar / related positions.
  • Experience in managing teams in supply chain environment.
  • Customer orientation.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP SD and MM.
  • Good computing skills (Excel, Power Point, Visio).
  • Effective reporting and presentation skills.
  • End to end process experience.
  • Ability to thinking in systems and networks.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Project and Process Management skills.
  • Affinity for numbers and finance.
  • Ability to make decisions
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the skills of convincing people.
  • Collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds in order to identify problems and find solutions.
  • Fluent in local and English language. Any other known language could be and advantage.
  • Inter Company experience.
  • Ability to manage logistics of all aspects of supply chain, from product development to the shipment of finished items.
  • Understanding of accounting or finance.
  • Strong communication skills and the desire to build lasting relationships with people all over the world.
  • Driving licence with associated relevant driving experience.
